Classic Homemade Eggnog is a rich and creamy holiday drink made with eggs, milk, sugar, and spices.

- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup bourbon or rum (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs until they are light and fluffy.
- Gradually add sugar while continuing to beat until well combined.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk and cream over medium heat until steaming.
- Slowly whisk the warm milk mixture into the egg mixture.
- Add vanilla and nutmeg, stirring to combine.
- If using, stir in bourbon or rum.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Serve chilled, garnished with additional nutmeg if desired.

- Adjust the amount of sugar to taste.
