Description
A classic Swiss dish made with melted Gruyere cheese, perfect for dipping bread.
Ingredients

- 400g Gruyere cheese
- 200g Emmental cheese
- 300ml dry white wine
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp kirsch (cherry brandy)
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Bread cubes for dipping
Instructions
- Rub the inside of a fondue pot with garlic.
- In a bowl, mix the cheeses and cornstarch.
- Heat the wine in the pot until just simmering.
- Add the cheese mixture gradually, stirring until melted.
- Add lemon juice, kirsch, and pepper to taste.
- Serve with bread cubes for dipping.
Notes
- Use day-old bread for better dipping.
- Adjust cheese ratio for desired flavor.
- Keep the pot on low heat while serving.
