Ingredients

- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup chocolate, melted
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a bowl, mix almond flour, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg whites until frothy. Gradually add granulated sugar while whisking until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites gently.
- Spoon the batter into a piping bag and pipe small circles onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let the macarons rest for 30 minutes to form a skin.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, then cool completely.
- For the filling, beat the butter and chocolate together, then add heavy cream and mix until smooth.
- Pipe the filling onto half of the macarons and sandwich with the other half.
