Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, lemon zest, and lemon juice to the yeast mixture.
- Mix in the flour and salt until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
- Spread butter on the dough, sprinkle with sugar and lemon zest.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking pan and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar and lemon juice to create glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- For extra lemon flavor, increase lemon zest.
- Can be made a day ahead and reheated.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
