Description
A traditional Greek honey pie dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix honey and milk until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs and then add to the honey mixture.
- Sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt into the mixture.
- Add chopped walnuts and stir until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Drizzle extra honey on top if desired.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
