Description
A sweet and salty treat made with Saltine crackers, chocolate, and toffee.
Ingredients
- Saltine crackers – 1 sleeve
- Unsalted butter – 1 cup
- Brown sugar – 1 cup
- Chocolate chips – 2 cups
- Chopped nuts (optional) – 1 cup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange Saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat until it boils.
- Pour the butter mixture over the crackers evenly.
- Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee.
- Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes, then spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if desired.
- Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container.
- Can substitute with different types of chocolate.
- Use wax paper for easier removal from the baking sheet.
